It's My One Year Blogoversary!
Ok technically it was about a week ago, but since my posting has been a little random lately, I'm celebrating it today! Wow I can't believe that I've been blogging for a whole year. Before I started this blog I was a LONG (and I really mean long) time lurker. I absolutely loved everyone's blogs that I came across and I kinda wanted to start one myself but I really thought that I had nothing important to say and that it would be a complete waste of time. Well then one day M decided to start a blog and I very quickly decided to start one too just like that. I could never imagine that one year later, I'm still at it and I actually have followers who want to read my random and unimportant thoughts!
It's so weird to go back and read my first couple posts and think about where I was a year ago. I was a junior and my biggest worry (at the time) was trying to find a summer internship, but mainly I was just trying to work hard and have a great time with my friends at school. Now, I'm still having a TON of fun (probably too much sometimes) but now I'm thinking about the "real world," and the "future" and I guess that life just seems so much scarier than it was a year ago. Not that it's a bad thing, but it totally amazes me how much can change in a year. I guess what I really want to say after all of this rambling is that I really want to thank all of you, both my followers from the very beginning, and those who have just found me...I would not still be doing this if it wasn't for you. I have enjoyed reading all of your blogs as well as getting to know all of you better, and I can't wait to keep it up in the future. Here's to many more happy years blogging!

Happy Green Beer Day!
All schools have fun traditions and celebrations, and today my school is having one of my FAVORITE all time celebrations. Today is Green Beer Day, which is a long standing tradition that takes place the Thursday before spring break starts. It started because St. Patrick's Day used to fall during our spring break (it doesn't anymore) and is basically just a fun way to celebrate the start of spring break! Basically what happens is that you drink all day (not that I'm saying this is a good thing!) and all of the bars start serving at 5:30am. My friends and I have never been up that early to celebrate, so were planning on getting up at 4am to be there bright and early. I absolutely LOVE this tradition, and think that it's one of the best events during the school year. What are some traditions at your school that you love?
And here is my last spring break clue (You guys are REALLLY close!)
Clue 3: There are over 25 miles of beaches (thanks Google!)

New Years Resolutions: An Update
Even though I set a bunch of New Years Resolutions for myself this year, I realized this morning when I was at the rec, that I never did a blog post about them. So I thought for today (well I guess it's really tonight) that I would tell you a couple of my resolutions and give an update on how I'm doing with them.
- Eat Healthier and Lose Weight: This one I'm doing really well with! Since about mid January I've already lost about 8 pounds, and I can't wait to loose even more when I come back from spring break. I'm pretty good about eating healthy during the week, but on the weekends I totally let myself eat whatever I want...I think that I would go crazy if I didn't!
- Read More Books: This is another resolution that I'm doing well with. I find that the only time that I have to read during the day is when I work out, which works out really well. So far I've read three books since January, and am almost done with a fourth which is a total record for me! I've loved all of the books that I've read but I think that my favorites have been Shutter Island (which is FANTASTIC...seriously go buy this book NOW) and Paula Deen's Memoir It Ain't All About the Cookin.
- Blog More Often: Eh this is one that I've kinda struggled with. I always try to write a post a day or at least for most of the week, but more often than not I end up not making the time for it. I know many of you blog every day, and that's my goal for the coming months.
- Learn How to Cook: Ha this has been a complete FAIL. What I have learned to master is the art of making a delicious meal in the microwave, or heating up a frozen pizza in the oven. I think that the total extent of my cooking has making risotto from a box (but it was REALLY good!) This is another one that I need to work on.
- Watch Less TV: This has also been kind of a fail. Right before Christmas break, I started watching episodes of The West Wing when I was getting ready in the morning, and now that they're on the first season, I've been totally hooked to it, and find myself watching more TV and not less. I would say that I should work on this one, but I like TV wayyy too much, so I think that I'm going to give this one up.
Clue 2: It's on the Atlantic Coast.
A couple of you were really close yesterday...anyone think that they know it today?

Awards!
Over the past couple weeks a bunch of you have been SO amazing to give me a couple of awards, and I have been lame enough not to post them. I still can't believe that people read this thing (and I just saw that I have 150 followers...WOW) and actually give me awards, so thank you all and here they are!
The very fabulous Lauren at Dreams Take Flight gave me the "your blog is fabulous award!"
The rules for this one are to just share five things you are obsessed with, and then pass the award on to five of the most fabulous blogs you read!
Julie from Wearing Mascara
Chanel Fashionista
Marian from Escaping the Single Life
Flip Flops on Lex
TWA from Are you a preppie?
Sarah from Wears Inappropriate Shoes (ha I absolutely love the name!) gave me the "Over the Top" award...I've seen other people do this and this looks like so much fun so here it goes:
Now I'm going to pass this along to:
Tarver from The Sweet Silver Lining
Pink*Riss
The Preppy Pearl
BLC from The Company She Keeps
New England Girl
Sweet Sassy Southern and Classy
Now last but certainly not least, both Christine from The Sweet Sea, and MMC from Black Labs and Lilly gave me the "Happy 101" award which is seriously adorable! Both of these ladies' blogs make me so happy so you all really need to run over and visit them!

The rules for this one are to just share five things you are obsessed with, and then pass the award on to five of the most fabulous blogs you read!
- The whole Holiday Season. Both Thanksgiving and Christmas are my absolute favorite times of the year. I love the movies, tv specials, food, music, decorations, and overall EVERYTHING about the holidays.
- Lady Gaga. I don't know about everyone else, but even though she is totally weird and out there, I absolutely LOVE her and am kinda obsessed with the Bad Romance video. I would love to be one of those dancers and wear those CRAZY outfits!
- Bravo. Lately, I've become kinda addicted to all of the bravo shows, and I've also been loving the fact that they show old episodes of The West Wing in the mornings when I have to get ready for school. Next to the Travel Channel, and Food Network, it's become one of my go to channels when nothing else is on.
- Chipotle. I used to be a Qdoba fan until our town just got a chipotle, and now I am TOTALLY obsessed. The chicken tacos, and their chips with guacamole are my favs.
- My Target Boots. I wrote about these and posted a picture of them in my previous post, but I have been wearing these nonstop and am totally obsessed with them.

The BEST GIVEAWAY EVER and Dresses
Hope you all are having a lovely Saturday morning! So first I wanted to mention the most AMAZING giveaway that Fantabulously Frugal is hosting. She is the most generous person ever and is offering 3 different packages with various goodies in them such as Gucci sunglasses, gift certificates and other amazing things! So head on over there enter, and if you do PLEASE mention that I sent you!!
So the other news is that I'm going to my sorority semi-formal tonight, and of course can't figure out what to wear. So maybe you all can weigh in! Here are the options: (oh and sorry for the crappy photo quality...I took them on my phone haha)

Option 1: I haven't worn this since freshman year but it's basic and cute and has a fun back (see below)

The back of Option 1

Option 2: I don't know if you can tell from the picture but the dress is a really deep, pretty forest green. I love this dress and wore it to a semi sophomore year, but the only problem is that it's a little tight and can make it hard to breathe haha.

Option 3: This dress I wore for recruitment last year and it's REALLY pretty and comfy however I do need to add "chicken cutlets" and a good dose of fashion tape to make it work on top haha.

Option 4: Oops, sorry I didn't rotate the picture, but this dress I bought yesterday and is navy with ruffles on top.
So....which one do you like?

What's Been Entertaining Me Today
My car is in the shop today getting it's "checkup" before I take it back to school, so I'm stuck in the house today, kinda bored and not really doing much of anything. That is until I discovered Poladroid on La Mia Vita's blog. WOW this is seriously one of the most fun things ever...or maybe I'm just really easily amused today! All you have to do is download the application from the website, and then just drag and drop your pictures into the program, and it will turn them into polaroid pictures. I think polaroids are very cool, so this is a great way to get the effect without buying one of their cameras (ha I sound like a spokesperson for this haha.) Here are some of the one's I've done:

On a completely unrelated note, Southern Champagne Wishes gave me the Splash Award which is given to "alluring, amusing, bewitching, impressive, and inspiring blogs."

Thanks SO much!! Since I don't think there's any rules that go along with this, I'll go right ahead and pass this along to...
Classy in Philadelphia
French Kiss
Savvy Mode
Susan in the South
Tales of a Northern Belle
Off to order a VERY belated thank you gift for S (I won't say what it is because I think she looks at this occassionally) and a bday gift for M (ditto) and then read more of my somewhat entertaining but kinda annoying book (My Custom Van by Michael Ian Black in case you were wondering!)

I just went on blogger today and can't believe that I have 100 followers! I was a long time lurker (wow that sounds really creepy haha) and I started this blog randomly after my housemate tickledPINK decided to start one too. I never imagined that I would get so many followers or that you would even be slightly interested in my very boring life! Thank you to all who've been following and commenting....it seriously means SO much to me whenever I get a comment and I cannot thank you all enough for being so welcoming! Thank you all again and this definately means that I will be doing a giveaway SOON however I think I'm going to wait until I get back to school to host it.

A To Do List and an Award
I can't believe that this summer is almost over and I'm leaving for my SENIOR (AHHH) year a week from tomorrow. Obviously I'm sad to leave my family (as I always am) but I can't WAIT to get back and have fun for my last year (and maybe learn some things too haha) I'm a huge procrastinator when it comes to packing and normally I start doing all the things I need to do seriously like 2 days before I leave but this year I'm actually going to try to start ahead of time! Ok here are all the things that need to get done before I leave (all of these may or may not happen haha)

Hi, Lane's Newlywed Scandals

The other major thing that happened today (besides the Sox just winning...YAY finally!) is that Mrs. Potts at Experiments in a Galley Kitchen gave the social butterfly award to some of her most recent followers and I was one of them!

OMG!!
I couldn't think of a better title to describe my reaction when I found out I WON MY FIRST GIVEAWAY!! The giveaway was hosted by the amazing Savvy Mode and I found out this morning that I won these lovely babies

They're the Destiny heels in pewter metallic by Paris Hilton Footwear, and I am SO excited, I am already planning a ton of outfits to wear them with...Thanks Savvy Mode!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday...I was going to write about Tucker Blair, one of my new favorite brands, but I ended up going out last night with one of my good high school friends L, so I completely forgot, and will write about them next week! L and I had SUCH a great time last night...we went to the Met Bar and Grill (which I would highly recommend it was delish!) and had salads, drinks, and split this yummy wild mushroom ravoli with grilled chicken and brie...mmm I want some now! After, we then went to Fridays and the BBC (British Beer Company) for some drinks and girl talk. L is one of my very good friends from high school, however we haven't had the chance to chat together is a while so it was a great evening!
As it is with most nights where I think I'm going to come home early, I got home MUCH later than I wanted to and also drank ALOT more than I wanted to, so today I spent the day laying out in the back yard, enjoying the last Sookie Stackhouse book, and the sunshine. It has been so relaxing, and a perfect way to spend such a beautiful day! Right now I don't really have any plans for the weekend, so we'll see what happens but I hope you all have a fun and relaxing weekend!

ETA: I also just wanted to say RIP John Hughes. Although I was a little young to see his movies when they were first released, I've avidly watched them when I was older, and he still is one of my favorite directors. His death is so sad, and he will greatly be missed!

A (Very Belated) Thank You!

I've been the worst blogger to not post this sooner but on Friday the lovely Shoshanna over at From L.A to LA gave me the Premium Meme 2009 Award...yay thank you SO much Shoshanna!! The rules are: "To accept this award, the recipient must list 7 traits about myself and then pass the award onto 7 other bloggers who deserve recognition for the personality they share through their blog."
Ok so I'm really bad with coming up with ANYTHING let alone personality traits about myself but here I go:
1. I am WAY too nice for my own good and have problems standing up for myself sometimes...def need to work on that
2. I LOVE meeting new people
3. I am the BIGGEST hypochondriac you will ever meet
4. I am also a HUGE procrastinator
5. I'm not the neatest person in the world but like to think of it as "organized chaos" haha
6. I'm a complete and utter shopaholic
7. I can't spell for anything....in this list alone I had to google a couple words to figure out how to spell them (I'm not saying which ones!)
WHEW that was hard....and I don't know if all of those count as personality traits but oh well that's the best I can do right now! Ok and so my 7 luck receivers are:
1. Nicole Marie at La Mia Vita
2. SunshineMeg at Float On
3. Whitney at Peace Love and Big
4. Gracie Beth at Preppy Southern Princess
5. Pinkriss at TickledPINK
7. College Prepster at College Prep (who is AMAZINGLY talented and has a fabulous giveaway going on right now!!)
Sorry this post is so late today...right when I got home from work I did level 2 of the shred (which I like ALOT more although it's still killing me haha) and my mom and I went to dinner with C (my bff) and her mom (my mom's bff) at The Cottage tonight which was so much fun and sooo delish! I am SO happy that it's wednesday which means that this week is almost over and can't WAIT for the weekend!!
My other big news is that MY REVAS CAME TODAY!!!!! (pictures coming tomorrow) and I may or may not have (emphasis on may) won a pair of the Jelly Revas (which are cute but DEF not worth 95 however I got a REALLLLY good deal on them) on ebay tonight which I am so excited for so I will post pictures of those too when they come! Oh and I def need to stop my ebay addiction. So off to bed right now...I don't know what it is but I have a constant tickle in my throat and it's so annoying/making me tired!

The Weekend is HERE!!
Sorry in advance: Since I haven't blogged all week this is going to be a LONGG picture heavy post...hope you enjoy haha

WAHOOO! 4th of July weekend is HERE!! So I don't know about anyone else but this week seriously could NOT have gone slower. Sorry about not posting since Monday but between babysitting for 3 hours in the morning, going to my internship for 5 hours in the afternoon, and shredding at night I am sooo tired! This morning started off a little rough with waking up 15 minutes before I had to be at the girl's house and looking sick nasty all day but....babysitting is done, my internship is done (for the week at least haha) and I've shredded for the day so THE WEEKEND IS HERE! As I'm sure you can tell by the picture above I am so excited for the 4th and hopefully some nice weather! I'm off to Vermont for the weekend so this will be my last post until then but I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I want to share pics from my FANTASTIC weekend to DC...btw def planning on moving there so if anyone know of any jobs opening next year for a Com major let me know haha ;)...but before I do so I want to say a couple Thank Yous!
So a couple days ago Denise over at Seersucker Scrapper (who has the cutest blog so go check it out now!) awarded me the Lovely Blog Award which I feel so honored to get!
The Rules:
1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his/her link.
2. Pass the award to 5 other bloggers that you have newly discovered
I absolutely love LOVE discovering new blogs so here they are! (obvi in no particular order)
Be As You Are (PJ literally JUST started her blog and its great so def go check it out!)
Alright! So even though this happened SUCH a long time ago I would LOVE to thank my koozie swap partner Ashley (she doesn't have a blog) for the adorable koozie she sent me! I can't wait to use it (if it ever gets halfway decent out haha)
Next I want to say thank you Thank You THANK YOU to my absolutely AMAZING summer swap partner Bonnie over at Meanderings of Life for her fantastic package she sent me! I am one lucky lady and am getting spoiled!

Everything still tucked away in the box
All my great goodies! I got a SUPER cute beach bag that I can't wait to use, the book 10 Little Blue Envelopes that looks great and I'm going to read after I finish book 7 of Sookie Stackhouse, yummy body lotion, a great water bottle, and a gorgeous wooden box!
And look at all of these goodies that were in the box! I can't wait to use all of them and are SERIOUSLY spoiled!
Ok so last but definitely not least, as I've said before my trip to DC was the best time ever and I've totally fallen in love! Thank you to all for your great suggestions...we didn't get The Matchbox but my friends agree with you and said it was fantastic so I def want to head there on my next visit (or if I end up moving there haha)
Friday S and I woke up and headed over to the Hill for our friend C (who's interning for his state rep) to give us a great tour of the Capital! It was so amazing and even though I went there in 8th grade I loved hearing about all of the history, and seeing a few things that I didn't before (sitting in on the House...SO COOL) which made it a great tour! After the tour S and I hit the white house and a bunch of monuments and then went to meet friends for happy hour and dinner at Tony's and Nick's (I think that's it) that was right on the harbor in Georgetown. It was SO YUMMY and pretty and we all had the best time! That night we all headed over to Adams Morgan to Brass Monkey which was soooooo much fun! It was a great bar, and was really cool because it had a ton of different levels (including a rooftop bar) that we just kept discovering!
Saturday, after a VERY late night we all woke up late, had brunch, and went to the Holocaust Museum. Really no words can describe it except...WOW. I visited there in 8th grade but really didn't get as much out of it as I did this time and it was incredibly sad and very moving. A group of us then headed over to the Jefferson memorial after and then to Clyde's in Georgetown which was sooo delish! After dinner we went to Georgetown Cupcake which were the best cupcakes I've ever had (and now I'm wondering if they ship haha) went back to their apartment and then went to Brass Monkey again for another great (and late!) night.
Sunday we were going to go to Georgetown to shop but it was raining so we all went to the mall at Pentagon City where we did some shopping, and then I left for my funnn (haha) plane ride home! Overall a GREAT weekend! Ok so here are pictures but for your sake (sorry this is LONG!) no captions this time as I'm sure you know the people and places.
Have a great 4th of July weekend!
xoxo

The Luck O The Irish Pt 1
Here's the moment I know you all have been desperately waiting for (haha) the post where I finally start sharing my Ireland pictures! Because I hate uploading pictures to Blogger with a passion (anyone else agree with me on this?) I decided to split up my pictures into two parts. Before I launch into those pics I just got my summer swap package for Bonnie (who has an adorable blog so if you haven't been to visit her make sure to do so!!) together so I thought I would give you all a little sneak peek of what I'm sending!
Now without further ado.....here are my pictures from Ireland!
Trinity College Ireland's largest college. I don't know what building this was but the entire campus is BEAUTIFUL! They still had classes going on so it was cool to see everyone around campus.
One of the MANY cute pubs in the Temple Bar district. I don't know why this section of called Temple Bar but its full of really cute restaurants, bars, and pubs.
Another cute pub in the Temple Bar district.
Where we ate lunch the first day...my parents picked it because we weren't really in the mood for pub food (which is good but REALLY heavy) and my parents used to eat at an Elephant & Castle when they lived in NYC. Turned out this is the same place haha go figure.
The pond inside St. Stephan's Green (Dublin's main park) For all you Boston ladies this park totally reminded me of the Gardens and Dublin is really similar to Boston in the way its set up, the weather, etc. It was funny...we would tell people we were from Boston, and most people either had a cousin or other relative living in the city and would always ask us if we knew them!
The Guinness Factory one of the best parts of Dublin ;) Those are my parents who accidently got in the picture in case you were wondering.
Self Explanatory but one of the best parts of the tour!
The Sky Bar at the very end of the tour...this was the BEST part and where they would give you a free pint of Guinness (or in my case two...I drank my moms too haha)

My Dad and I

Me and my Mom
This is outside of Dublin in Glendalough where we stopped on our way to Kilkenny. These were two Irish Setters that were next door to our restaurant where we had lunch and they were so cute I had to include it!
Where we had lunch....honestly some of the freshest and BEST food I've ever had! They were playing Bob Marley inside and any place that plays Bob Marley is a-ok with me!!
Some of the ancient ruins inside Glendalough National Park. Glendalough used to be home to a hermit named St. Kevin but many others ended up joining him and these are some of the ancient ruins from the village. I don't exactly remember how old they are but I think they're from the 1100 or 1200s.
My dad and I in front of the lower lake in Glendalough.
The upper lake of Glendalough....this picture does not do it justice. One of the prettiest places I have ever seen!
And that's going to be it for tonight! Right now the Sox are playing the (evil....sorry personal bias coming through) Yankees and they're up 7-0....WOOOOO GO SOX!!!!
