A Lazy Dazy Weekend

After the craziness that was my 4th of July weekend (I swear I'll post that recap eventually) I was actually really happy to have a weekend to do absolutely nothing. Friday my roommate and I stayed in and got REALLY good Indian food from this hole in the wall place in Ohio City. We usually don't agree on what to watch on TV but finally found Miracle which we both love. On Saturday I went to try a new salon to get my hair cut and colored because it was in HORRIBLE shape. I don't know about all of you, but I tend to stick with my hair dresser for a while so I was really nervous to try someone new, but she turned out to be fantastic! The salon was great too and everyone was so nice I would totally recommend it to anyone and can't wait to go back again soon.

Last night my roommate and another friend tried a new Vietnamese restaurant that was delish, and then went out for some margs before calling it a night. Today we went to lunch it Little Italy before hitting the beach in Bay Village. The beach was WAYY crowded and the sand was kinda gross but it was so nice to be by the water on this gorgeous day, and to lay out. So that was my WAY boring but relaxing weekend. What did you all do?

It's JUNE!!

Wow how did it get to be the beginning of June ALREADY? I can't believe that I've been out of school for a month and I'm moving TOMORROW. This year is already going by WAY too fast for me. For some reason out of all of the summer months I think June is my favorite mainly because it's the very beginning of summer and the weather's still (somewhat) cool. Right after the 4th of July I usually get sick of the hot weather and just want fall to come! This month I have a TON of fun things happening, the biggest being my move and the start of my new job on Monday. Then in two weeks I'm going to Cedar point with my great-grand big and to her lake house for the weekend. I LOVE amusement parks and Cedar point is the best so it will be a great weekend!

My Memorial Day weekend was fantastic and included a lot of laying out, grilling out, and hanging out with family and friends. I also saw Sex and the City 2 not once but twice, with my best friend C on Friday, and then with my mom and a family friend on Saturday. Although I liked the movie A LOT more when I saw it the second time I still wasn't completely impressed and thought the first one was a lot better. I loved the first 45 minutes of the movie but thought that it kind of fell apart when they went on vacation. Also, Carrie annoyed me through most of the movie and I found myself liking Miranda a lot more, which is weird because I couldn't stand Miranda through most of the show and Carrie (along with Charlotte) was always my favorite. I still had an amazing time both times I saw it and would still recommend it!

Given that today is my last day home, and I'm sitting on my couch writing this/ re-watching the finale of Gossip Girl instead of doing the 8 million things I need to get done I think I'm going to end it here. I'm off to run a ton of boring errands and pack but I hope that you all have a much better day!

A Fantastic Weekend!

Wow where has this week gone, and how is it already March? This past week has absolutely FLOWN by, and the fact that I had such an amazing weekend, made it go by that much quicker! This weekend I had both my sorority's Mom's Weekend, as well as a horse show, so it was completely jammed packed with activities. What made this weekend extra special too was that my Dad came just so he could see me ride on Sunday, so it was great that I got to see both of my parents who I haven't seen since Christmas! On Friday my parents took my housemates (minus our one crazy one) and I out to dinner at this delicious Italian place, and then we all went out to the bars for a little bit. Saturday, M's mom came, so we all went shopping to the outlets (I got some AMAZING things at Jcrew) and then had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Saturday night we had our mom's weekend dinner and silent auction, and then on Sunday my parents and I headed out bright and early to the horse show which was about two hours away.

It was definitely weird that this was my last show that I'll ever ride in for my college team but it was an amazing way to end the season. I had a great ride, and then my team as a whole won the show, and our major competitors got in third which made the day even better! It was definitely sad saying goodbye to my parents yesterday but I can't believe that I'm going to see them in about a month for Easter, and then shortly after that they're going to be back here for graduation...this semester is flying by WAY too fast for me!

So on a completely different note, and in honor of my spring break that I'm leaving for on Saturday I thought that I would play a game with you all. I'm going to reveal a clue each day as to where I'm going for break, and then on Friday I'll tell you all where I'm going as well as post a surprise! So without further ado here is the first clue:

Clue 1: It's in the Southern US

Hmmmmm...any guesses? Hope you all had a happy March 1st!

Olympic Fever

Has anyone else out there gotten swept up in Olympic Fever? I literally have been watching it every possible moment and they have been amazing so far! I think my favorites to watch have been all of the skiing events and the figure skating. I was absolutely amazed when Lindsey Vonn won the gold, and think that it is absolutely amazing that she was able to win despite her injury. I'm watching Ice Dancing right now, and even though some of it is a little weird, I'm a total sucker for all of the dramatic performances. I think my favorites so far have been the Americans who skated to Phantom of the Opera, and the couple who skated to the theme from Requiem for a Dream...both performances were fantastic! I also cannot WAIT for the womens figure skating tomorrow night it should be amazing. GO TEAM USA! What have been your favorite things to watch so far?

On a completely unrelated side note, I saw this How I Met Your Mother episode one time, and the main point of the episode was that nothing ever good happens after 2am. Now when I saw the episode I totally laughed it off and didn't really think anything of it but after a totally WEIRD experience that happened to my housemates and I (which is a long story but involved a massive fight breaking out at our house) I have to go back and think that this is kind of true. What do you all think about this?

So that's about it for tonight...back to watching more Ice Dancing!

ETA: Ok the Canadian couple who just took the lead....wtf does anyone else think that they weren't as good as the American team (of Davis and White) or am I just biased and totally missing something?

The Super Bowl!

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone! Even though I'm not a huge football fan I'm SO excited for the big game just for an excuse to watch alot of tv, drink, and eat snack foods all day. Who are you all rooting for? I think I'm going to cheer on the Saints just because this is their first time and I always love an underdog haha. I also cannot WAIT for the commercials...those and the halftime show are always the highlights for me. A couple friends of ours are hosting a party so we're going to head over there later today and it should be a blast!

In other news...how was everyone's weekend did you all get alot of snow? We got a good amount on Friday and are supposed to get another storm Tuesday which I'm actually kind of excited for! Friday my housemates and I went over to happy hour at one of our favorite bars, and then a friend's party where I drank a little too much haha so on Saturday we were just kinda of lazy and stayed in which was nice and a perfect way to enjoy the snowy day! Oh and I'm sorry about not doing a Weight-Loss Wednesday this week...our internet has been screwy lately but I loss 1lb this week which brings my total up to 3.5lbs so far (but I'm probs going to gain a good chunk of that back today!) Oh and before I end...what did you all think of LOST? So I'm not really sure but are they now doing alternate timelines? I was so confused throughout the whole thing but I absolutely LOVED it and I was also so sad that Juliet died for real this time I always liked her and Sawyer together. Enjoy the Super Bowl!

Lights, Camera, Action!

I absolutely LOVE movies but given my busy schedule at school I don't really get to see them this often. Over these past two weeks I've seen more movies than I have in a while and it's been fantastic! Last Sunday my friends and I went to see Avatar in 3D which I wanted to see just because everyone has seen it but I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not.

Well I absolutely LOVED it. Although the story was totally cheesy I still loved it, and the effects were absolutely beautiful and amazing. Seeing it in 3D was definitely the way to go, and if anyone hasn't seen it you should go right now...I actually wouldn't mind seeing it again!

Yesterday my friends and I went to see When in Rome which I kind of didn't want to see just because of the 800 ads that they've been running but I was pleasantly surprised again.

While it wasn't the best in the world it was really cute, and some parts were pretty funny...Josh Duhamel was also pretty nice to stare at too! Overall it was a fun movie and a good choice for a Saturday afternoon.

When we got back we didn't really feel like going out, so we all decided to get take out and have a movie night at home. The first movie we rented was Nights in Rodanthe which I always wanted to see when it got out but never got the chance to.

Ok so I did end up missing a chunk of it because I was doing laundry but I saw about half of it and absolutely LOVED it and also DIED at the ending. I recommend this to everyone and really want to see the first half and also read the book as well.

After, we watched Disturbia which was on TNT (absolutely love that movie) and then rented I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. I absolutely loved this book (even though many of the stories are SO wrong haha) and was really curious to see how they were going to make it into a movie.

It was really funny, and I was happy that some of my favorite stories from the book made it in, but I liked the book alot more and would definitely recommend it over the movie. Today was another lazy day spent doing a TON of homework and not much else. I also watched the Grammy's tonight and have to say that I was kinda unimpressed. I LOVED Gaga and Elton John in the beginning, and thought that Bon Jovi was fun but I didn't really like a lot of the other performances. Oh and I think I'm in the definite minority here but is anyone else besides me getting a little annoyed with Taylor Swift? I like her music but there's something about her that totally annoys me, and I was getting REALLY sick of seeing her so many times tonight!

So that was my boring weekend in a nutshell. Anyone else do anything exciting or see any good movies?

Christmas Recap

Happy 2 days after Christmas everyone, I hope you all had a great holiday! Santa was VERY good to me this year and left me lots of goodies including a ton of books and dvds (one of them was the 5th season of Lost which I can't WAIT to watch), a North Face coat, and snow boots! We had a very relaxing Christmas day and then went over to my neighbor's for cocktails which was interesting to say the least. I love my neighbors but they don't always have an edit button on what they say especially when they've been drinking for a couple hours so I definitely heard more about they're...um...love life (they're also in their mid-60s) than I wanted to know!! After the party we came back home, ordered Chinese and watched The Holiday and I'll Be home for Christmas which made a very nice Christmas night!

Everyone has posted pictures of their Christmas decorations, and I guess that I'm a little late to the party considering it's after Christmas haha but my mom goes all out around the holidays so here they are.

(most of our ornaments lean towards the handmade/folksy kind and I love this one which we got in Vermont one year)

(The Christmas Barbar which I think I told you all about in my christmas traditions post)

(all of our stockings....and yes my dog does have his own!)

(my grandmother who is VERY proud of her Norwegian/Viking heritage gave this nutcracker to us)

Today, I'm off to Boston to exchange a gift for my dad, and use a couple gift certificates before coming home to pack for CA tomorrow! I hope you all had a great holiday....what did Santa leave for you?

Back To Reality

After a crowded plane ride I'm back at school, and while I'm definitely happy to be back I'm TOTALLY missing home right now! My Thanksgiving was great, lots of good food and even better company (all except for our one family friend who is completely CRAZY but definitely makes holidays entertaining haha) and this past weekend was so much fun as well. On Friday afternoon, my mom and I saw The Blind Side which I thought was absolutely amazing and completely inspirational...I also loved the fact that both Leanne and her daughter were/are KDs! Saturday, my family went up to Salem to walk around and go to this teeny tiny museum that always has unique exhibits and when we got home we watched The Family Stone and The Holiday, two of my favorite Christmas Movies. Today, before leaving we all went to the Brighams (anyone from MA knows that it's the best ice cream EVER) in my town for one last visit because it's CLOSING tomorrow :( It's kinda sad how, well, sad I am about it but I have a ton of great memories from there, and will definitely miss my catch up dates there with my BFF from home, C. Right now I'm sitting in bed, kinda falling asleep, and trying to build up the motivation to write a paper thats due tomorrow at 10am...nothing like a fun way to come back to school! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

A Recap in Pictures

I was going over my posts today, and besides from my Tunes Tuesday posts, (which I don't know about all of you but I've been having a great time digging through my Itunes to come up with songs and a theme) and I noticed that I have been a REALLY bad blogger lately. All of the school work that goes along with senior year has been catching up with me, and the fact that I have be (semi) actively job hunting. Which reminds me...remember the job interview that I had a couple weeks ago? Well it went really well because I have a second interview on Tuesday! I have no idea if this is going to go anywhere but I really hope it does because 1.) I need a job, 2.) the company sounds really cool and it's in a field (digital marketing) that I'm interested in and 3.) I REALLY need a job!

Besides from that nothing that exciting has happend so I decided that I would recap my last couple weeks in pictures...because nothing is more fun than that right? These are from the last two weeks and include my bday, halloween, and my other housemate S's bday. Enjoy!

(The bday cake my housemates got for me)

(If you can't tell I was Wonder Woman!)

(My glittle A, me, one of my littles N, and my other glittle J)

(me and my other little E)

(Celebrating S's bday)

(Her first [legal] drink!)

I also have seen that other bloggers are saying something that they are thankful for each day of November, and while I can't promise to say something each day I'm going to do the best I can! Today I'm thankful for the "Leaves" scented candle that I got from Bath and Body Works. I can't really describe the smell but it's delish and is making my room smell like Fall!

Sunday Funday

Ha I know that's a totally lame title post but after this weekend my brain really isn't functioning at full speed yet haha. Sorry for the brief blogging hiatus but I have a (kinda) sketchy story to explain it. When I was driving home from the airport on Monday (after a LONGGG day of travel...ugh I really hate flying!) I was talking to S, and among other things she mentioned that the internet had gone out completely Sunday night, but had finally come back which was good. Well, cut to tuesday night, and the internet went out again, and by Thursday it still hadn't come back on. I called Time Warner, and when the guys came over that night they found that someone had put a splitter on our cable box, and they were totally surprised that it didn't affect our cable as well. We were all kinda sketched out because we really had no idea who would have done this, but we think it might have been our sketchy ex-housemate who lived in our house for the summer...definitely glad that she's gone and that our internet is up and running again!

The other bit of exciting news that happened this week was that....I got my first job interview!! It's for a digital marketing company, which is similar to the one I worked for this summer, and I am so excited but SO nervous. I have a phone interview with them on Tuesday afternoon, and even though I feel kinda prepared, and am calling my dad to get more tips, any and all advice from you is needed and MUCH appreciated!

Besides from being my b-day weekend, this weekend was also my school's homecoming weekend which was an absolute blast! Football really isn't that big at my school (our team is pretty bad haha) so instead of the game my friends and I just hung out all day, and watched other games on tv. M and I also discovered our new favorite drink:

O man where has this been all my life! M and I mixed it with lemondae, and it was absolutely fantastic...definitely going to become a regular addition in our house! Last night we went to a sorority party and saw a bunch of alum which was a ton of fun, but then ended up watching the patriot on tv before going to bed early haha. I haven't been grocery shopping in SO long, so I decided to make a trek to Whole Foods which is about an hour away, but I am SO excited...probably too excited. Tonight I have chapter (for my sorority) and then a TON of homework to do, and then tomorrow is my birthday!! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Snow?!

Update: Well it is officially snowing, so much that my flight was delayed until 830pm but I would end up missing my connecting flight so I'm stuck here until tomorrow :(

I've had an absolutely amazing time back at home for the weekend, but REALLY, since when has it suddenly turn into Winter? Friday when I randomly woke up early (I think I thought I still had to get up for class haha) and looked outside there were snow flurries flying all around. Now I'm all for Winter, and can't wait for the first snow but I think mid-October is definitely a little early!

Friday I literally sat on the couch all day and watched shows that I dvred on Thursday night. I've never actually realized this before, at school my friends and I are so busy that we never usually watch our Thursday night shows on Thursday night, but WOW I really watch alot of tv on that night...I should probably cut back haha. I haven't really done a "new shows post" but I think my favorite shows of the Fall have become: Modern Family (that's on Wednesday nights but oh well,) Flash Forward (Even though it's not as good, I definitely think that this will replace my LOST obsession when it ends, and I can't believe that CHARLIE (well I guess his name is Simon now haha) showed up in the end!,) Vampire Diaries (obviously not as good as True Blood but o man is it getting intense,) and Community (I LOVE Joel McHale). Combined with my old favorites (SO happy that 30 Rock came back this week, and Greys was AMAZING!) Thursday night tv has become a very busy night!

Friday night my family and I went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in my town, and I really wanted to wear this dress that I got a while ago from F21, so even though it was a little bit fancier for the place I decided to wear it anyways!

I ended up dressing it down a bit with this jacket that I got from Nordstroms alittle bit ago and ended up wearing flats.

Saturday my Mom treated me to a manicure which I REALLY needed, and then I did alittle bit of shopping which is always fun. I went to this Boston-area chain called 344, which used to be called Jasmine Sola, and ever since it changed the store has kinda gone down abit but what I LOVE is everything seriously seems to be $38 dollars so its great for getting fun, going out clothes. I also went to the Gap and got a couple of things on Sale which is always nice. After that, I went to my High School's homecomming which was SO much fun, and I got to see alot of my old teachers that I love. Last night my family went to see Couple's Retreat, which was REALLY funny in the first half, and then kinda died out a bit but was still really entertaining. The movie ended kinda early so I did some reading for school, and watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which I had never seen before and was SO funny!

I'm really lucky that my flight doesn't leave until 6:30 today (but it doesn't get in until 11:30 and then I still have an hour drive so that kinda sucks) and it's really rainy and gross here so I think I'm just going to hang out and do homework. I'm kinda bummed to leave already but can't wait for Thanksgiving which is JUST around the corner! What did you all do this weekend?
xoxo

PS~ I'm so sad that I didn't/not going to make it to see the Head of the Charles but my school has four boats in it, and I know that Miss Queen Bee is it so GOOD LUCK to all of them!

Weekend Recap

Happy (early) Tuesday...yay for getting through Monday! My Monday was FABULOUS (never thought I would say that haha) one because of the beautiful fall weather, and more importantly the fact that one of my afternoon classes got canceled today...WAHOO! O man I seriously LOVE when that happens (not that it happens often) and today was the perfect time because instead of quickly grabbing something to go after my riding practice I got to go home and eat lunch/shower before my 5pm class...it was definitely the break I needed.

This weekend was great but busy! We had a horse show about an hour and a half away on Saturday, so Friday night the entire team packed up and headed off to stay in a hotel for a night before going to the show on Saturday morning. Friday night was fun and so relaxing...I was in a room with two of my good friends on the team, and one girl that I didn't know as well and we all just hung out and watched Runaway Bride on TNT which I hadn't seen in forever and forgot how much I loved it...Seriously that movie is SO cute!

Saturday we all woke up at 6am (AHH!) and got to the show at 7am however it was still too dark to start schooling the horses so we had to wait a while before we finally got started. We had two shows in one day (instead of spreading them out over the entire weekend) which lead to a very successful (Our team won the first show, got second in the second show, and I had a great ride which I was SO happy about) but LONG day! We left at around 630ish, got home by 8pm, and I was in bed by midnight (I seriously felt so cool going to bed so early on a Saturday night haha.) Here are a couple pics from the show:

The sunrise haha

Representing KD at the show (there are 5 of us on the team which is SO much fun!)

Myself in action...ignore the weird smile haha

Sunday was a VERY lazy day. I ended up watching a marathon on TV Land of Married with Children (and yes I did laugh at some parts...don't judge) did some laundry, did homework, and watched Titanic which was also on TNT. Wow I LOVE that movie (I always have to watch it on tv even though I have it on dvd) but it made me so depressed that night. Soooo that was my weekend...very busy but so much fun!

A Long and BUSY week!

Sorry for the brief blogging hiatus....even though it was only a four day week did it feel so LONG to anyone else? I'm just getting ready to go to dinner and then out for the night so I'll give you all a brief update as to where I was this entire week!

Monday
S and I got back from her house around 12:30/1ish with plans to do LOTS of work and for S to start watching the second season of True Blood. Unfortunately those plans were completely delayed because our fourth housemate S, who stayed home for the weekend made an absolute MESS of the house. When we walked in the door we were greeted to food that was stuck in their bowls, a TON of dirty dishes in the sink, beer cans everywhere, and S was nowhere to be found. GRRRRRR....very annoying especially after such a nice weekend!

Tuesday
Nothing very exciting happened on Tuesday except that I had horseback riding practice (I made the equestrian team...WOOHOO!) and I discovered that people who don't listen in class really annoy me. Seriously...in one of my classes my professor was talking about a paper that will be due in a couple weeks and said that no outside resources were necessary. About two minutes later a girl asked if we needed any outside resources...are you kidding me? That night my friends and I went to a sorority sister's bday party which was fun, but we all ended up falling asleep at a friends house watching a movie and had to walk back at about 230am haha.

Wednesday
Wednesday was a VERY long day. I had class from 10am-1245pm and then 2-7pm. After I had an equestrian team meeting for about 1.5 hours and then went directly to the library to study for a test I had on thursday so I didn't get home until about 1230am. Ughhhh I HATE days like that but when I got home my sweet housmates bought me a present for making the team:

my favorite beer! My housemates (well two of them) are absolutely amazing and I'm so happy that they surprised me with that...completely made my day!

Thursday
I had a test on Thursday which wasn't alot of fun, but I think it went alright, and then I had another riding practice which went really well. Then I had another amazing surprise ,in that a very good friend's father was in town on business and wanted to know if I wanted to go to dinner. Our familes are very close, and I've actually known them since Kindergarden so this was SO much fun and a really great surprise...definately made my night as well! After that I went home to study for ANOTHER test that I had today, and had a pretty late night.

Friday

Today I had a class, and then a break before taking my second test of the week which I think went pretty well. When I got home I revisited

which I haden't done in about 6wks (sad I know) and it felt so good to get back! After I gained back all of the calories I burned because M and I met a couple of friends for happy hour which was a great end to a busy week! This weekend should be lots of fun, and who can forget the True Blood finale on Sunday...should be amazing! Sorry for the long post and I hope you all had a fantastic week/ and a great upcoming weekend!

Oink Oink

I'm going to apologize in advance because they're a bunch of random things I'm going to put into this post so its going to be like a bunch of mini posts in one!

First off...ok maybe it's just my school, my group of friends, and I know my hypochondria is DEFINITELY playing into this but has anyone else noticed that the subject of swine flu has been on EVERYONE'S mind's lately? It's seriously the only thing that anyone around here is talking about...the school has sent out like 800 emails, all of the professors have been talking about it in class, and my group of friends and I are talking about it because we obviously know that if one of us get's it, all of us will. To make matter's worse, one of my housemates has been feeling really sick today so we've been making her take her temp every 5 min and have basically convinced ourselves that she has it. Sooooo if I don't update my blog for awhile, I'm probably out buying a hazmat suit and curling up into the fetal position in my room!

Second of all how was everyone's weekend? Mine was GREAT but I def can't drink as much as I did both nights! Saturday was spent hanging out on the couch with my magazine/catalogue and Sunday I napped and did some work before my first sorority chapter of the year that night. Today was somewhat stressful (which is a story for a different post) however the definate HIGHLIGHT of the day was watching True Blood this afternoon on a break between classes. Um how amazing was that episode, and am I crazy or did Eric STILL look hot when he was in that dress? I also can't WAIT for the finale but can't believe that it's the Sunday after Labor Day....GRRRR.

Here are a couple fun pictures from the weekend (aka Friday night)

(My GIANT beer at the German restaurant)

tickledPINK and I with our beers

Senior and Junior KDs....ignore all of the empty Natty cans haha

(my dress from saturday night...I didn't have any cute pictures from that night but wanted to share the dress because I liked it!)

Lastly, I wanted to send a HUGE congrats out to my mama today for finishing her first day of school. After many years of working in the business world, and then being a stay at home mom, my mom decided to go back to school to become a vet technician which is something that she's always wanted to do....it's so awesome that she's doing this now, and I also want to wish her GOOD LUCK on the upcoming year!

Sorry again for this very random post and I hope everyone had a good Monday/a great end of August!

Question

Is it a problem it I leave for school in less than 24 hours and I haven't really started packing yet? This weekend was SO much fun, and I did get a lot of things done for going back to school (ie shopping haha) but packing wasn't really one of them. Friday I didn't really do much but on Saturday my dad and I had our annual back to school shopping trip that we've been taking together since I was little. Yes, I may be a little too old to do back to school shopping with my dad, but I love spending time together, and on top of that I got some really cute things (especially the Jcrew Ikat skirt which is ON SALE...WOO!) Saturday night we had a bunch of friends over for a cookout and yesterday my family and I went to Rockport which was SO pretty! So lots of fun this weekend but sadly no packing was done which means that it will be a LATE night!

Today my mom and I have been running last minute errands, and on top of everything else, I have to go to AT&T to get my phone fixed because it chose today of all days to break on me (typical.) So that's going to be it for me today (and probably the next couple days) but I hope you all had a GREAT weekend, and I would like to leave you all with this gem from Grease 2 (you all know how much I love that haha.)

Don't you wish that every school year could start with singing and dancing?

Lazy Sunday

This is probably going to be a relatively short post because although my weekend was nice and relaxing, I didn't really do anything too exciting so I'm kinda limited on things to write about! Friday I saw Julie and Julia which was amazing, and I thought Meryl Streep, Stanley Tuccci, and Amy Adams were FANTASTIC! The movie also kinda inspired me to start cooking (or in my case learning to cook...boiling water to add pasta, and making tacos are kinda the extent of my abilities right now haha.) Maybe it's just me, but while I love the idea of cooking (I always save yummy recipes that I find on blogs, and own a ton of cookbooks) I never get around to actually making any of it, however after seeing the movie I definitely want to try my hand at it, although I'm probably going to wait awhile until I tackle Julia Child!

Saturday I met up with my friends L and N in Back Bay for lunch and then we ended up walking around Newberry Street which was fun. I got some great pre-fall things at H&M, Second Time Around, and (surprisingly) American Apperal. American Apperal always kinda intimidates me, and I never think I'm cool enough to walk in the store, let alone buy anything from there, but I found a really cute striped skirt that will be perfect for late summer, and fall, when I can layer it over some tights. One thing that I love about that store and H&M is that I always crack up though at the salespeople because you can always tell that they're trying SO hard to be edgy that it ends up looking a little redic....one of the sales girls in H&M was rocking platinum blone hair, giant grandfather glasses, a nose ring (not a stud, but a hoop that sticks out...like a bulls) and this poofy flower dress that was layered over stirrup leggings...I guess her outfit was kinda cool and it was definitely unique haha but the whole thing was a little much!

Last night I stayed home and had dinner with my family, and ended falling asleep on the couch (sad I know haha) and woke up at 3am, so once I made it up to bed, I couldn't get back to sleep until 5am...UGH! Today has been a VERY lazy day, mainly due to the cloudy weather outside, but at least I have an excuse to stay inside all day and read which is fine by me! I guess this post wasn't as short as I thought it was going to be, but that's about it for now. Off to meet up with Jillian, and then looking forward to True Blood, Entourage, and Army Wives tonight, and also this show Defying Gravity that's on ABC....is anyone else watching it? It's alittle weird but kinda good and makes for a fun summer show. Have a great Sunday night!

Hopping on the Ebay Bandwagon

Well I've avoided it for a VERY long time but with my shopping addiction we all knew this day would come...I've officially become ADDICTED to ebay. However as a (very cheap) newbie I've only bid on one item (that I lost out on booo) and am watching like 800 others but one item I have my eye on (I don't want to say it to jinx it haha) ends tonight so you all might be getting another post from me sharing my great steal! My mom is an ebay fanatic so she's given me some great advice but I'm always up for more so if there are some secrets to ebay that you want to share let me know!

I basically did nothing this weekend which was exactly what I wanted and it was SO relaxing! This was the first weekend that I was home in 2 weeks so it was so nice to spend it with my family and enjoy the nice weather! Friday was the most BEAUTIFUL day so I spent the entire day laying out, and then meeting up with Jillian before going to one of my favorite restaurants in town for dinner. My family has been going there for years, basically ever since its opened so we know everyone there including the chefs haha and its always nice because at the end of the night everyone usually sits down with us and it is so much fun!!

Saturday I worked in the morning and then my dad and I went to sail boston to see the tall ships in the harbor. It was SOOO much fun...these ships apparently only come once every couple years and yesterday was my first time seeing the ships. My dad and I had such a great time together walking around and looking at the beautiful ships and the weather was perfect as well. We didn't end up going out last night but grilled out and ate in the backyard and then watching the Sox KILL the KC Royals which officially puts them 2.5 games above the Yankees WOOHOO! After that I watched the movie Contact with Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey that I DVRed on TNT....I first watched that movie in my 11th grade astronomy class (don't ask me why haha) but I forgot how much I liked it! It's SUPER cheesy and it's funny to laugh at the 90s clothes but the idea is really interesting. Today I'm stuck working while my parents and dog are going to Rockport but tonight we're meeting up with my dad's godson J and his roommate for dinner which should be fun before watching True Blood and Entourage which will be the perfect end to a GREAT weekend!

LOOK AT THE FORECAST!!!! That's right there's actually happy little suns on the 10day forecast! (I'm ignoring the few dark clouds) I really don't remember the last time I saw these so this definitely brightened (ha!) up my Monday morning!

I hope everyone had a fantastic 4th weekend...mine was fantastic! Vermont is seriously my favorite place on Earth so I was so happy that we were able to spend such a fantastic weekend up there! We left early Friday morning at went to Burlington VT, that's right on Lake Champlain. It was raining but still SOO pretty and I had a chance to check out all the cute stores as well! Alot of towns in Vermont do fireworks on the 3rd as well as the 4th so we were going to watch the fireworks in Burlington but it was kinda gross and cloudy so we didn't

Saturday was supposed to be pretty but ended up raining half the day which was kinda a bummer but it was so nice just to sit, read, and relax. Luckily enough the clouds cleared up that night so we watched the great fireworks show! Sunday was gorgeous and sunny so my mom and I sat out and soaked up the sun....even though I had a pretty good base I got SO sunburned (which is normally ok because I usually tan afterwards) but I forgot to take off my necklace so I have a circle that's imprinted that's probably not going away anytime soon...o well it was definitely worth it! Here are a couple pics from the weekend...sorry they look kinda weird...I forgot my camera charger so these are all from my phone.

I hope everyone else had a fantastic 4th as well...can anyone else believe that it's July 6th already? This summer is FLYING by! Hope everyone enjoys this sunny (I hope it's sunny in your area too) Monday! Oh and sorry that the format of this post is kinda messed up....Blogger was NOT my friend this morning!
