Last night a very good friend of mine sent a facebook message to our group of friends saying that her mom and friends got 10 tickets to see Taylor Swift next weekend in Chicago but they couldn't go so she was wondering if we wanted to go instead. (Good News!)
The best part about the facebook message? The tickets are FREE (AMAZING News!!)
The only problem? My school has our home home horse show that weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) so there is literally NO way way I can go. (Bad...VERY Bad News)
So while my friends are enjoying Taylor I'll probably be at home going to bed early so I can get up at 6am on Sunday to stand in the cold watching (and riding) horses...BOOOO.
But (to not end on a completely bad note...I just checked the 10day weather forecast and its supposed to be in the 60s all week! Woohoo Fall is officially here!! A better post much later!

A Long LONG Day
Do you ever have those days that you dread before they even start? Today is DEFINITELY one of those days. I have a full day of classes (10-11, 1115-1245, 2-4, 5-630), career fair (from 3-7) that I have to squeeze in between my afternoon classes, uncooperative professors (I told my professor of my 5pm class that I had to go to career fair, obviously so I can get a job, and he said that he guessed it was "ok" if I came late but I had to make sure to come today. Ummm I'm sorry not to be rude but buddy you teach a freshman 100 level class that I have to take for a general requirement and I have to get a job!) an equestrian team workout at 8pm, and then going from the rec to the library so that I can study all night for a microbiology final that I have tomorrow. Not to mention the fact that I'm carrying two bags with my books for today and my interview clothes so I kinda look like a bag lady haha.
WHEW! I'm seriously tired just from writing all of that! Literally the only thing that is getting me through today is knowing that Grey's is tomorrow, and I'll have a nice (big) glass of wine when I'm watching it...haven't yet decided if that makes me an alcoholic or not haha! I also can't WAIT for Friday because that's when my housemate and I will be making a pilgrimage to the new Nordstroms thats opening in our area!! Anyhoo sorry for the early morning babble, and I hope you all have a great wednesday!!

My Fall Playlist
I don't know about anyone else, but for me certain songs remind me of specific seasons. Like even in the middle of winter Shwayze's Corona and Lime will always remind of summer. For me there are certain songs that just feel like fall... I have no idea why they do but they do. So in honor of the official first day of fall today I thought I would share some of them with you! I always like finding new songs to add to my itunes so I hope you enjoy and if you have any other songs that remind you of fall (or any season for that matter) definitely share below! My Latest Procrastination Method
After barely finishing one paper, and haven't yet started on the second (which is due tomorrow at 10am in case you were wondering) you would think that I would be frantically trying to write the paper so I could get to bed at a normal hour. Nope... after watching the Emmys and totally falling in LOVE with Neil Patrick Harris, but being slightly confused when the "Dr. Horrible" bit happened I hulued (is that a verb? Oh well it is now) it to see what it was all about. For anyone that doesn't know (like me) during the writers strike NPH starred in this web musical thing (sorry I'm not being eloquent I think my writing skills are shot right now haha) about a small time villian trying to become a "super-villian" and it is FANTASTIC!! It has these fantastic songs that are stuck in my head right now and is both funny and sweet and the same time. I haven't finished it yet, but every time I finish a page I'm going to let myself watch a little bit more, and if you're ever bored and looking for some entertainment I HIGHLY suggest you watch this! Here's the link (I would embed it but the whole thing's 45min which is a little long to put on here!)

I Seriously Have the Best Friends EVER!!
I don't know if I've ever mentioned it on here but one of my all time favorite bands, and hands down FAVORITE concert to go to is Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I'll even just go to Bruce by myself but the E Street Band always makes it alot more fun! So imagine how FREAKING excited/happy/so blown away when S and M surprised me with tickets (for my birthday in October) to see:
in November!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH I am SOOOO excited and I am so blown away by my friends generosity....absolutely amazing!! Soooo in just a few short months I'll be screaming BRUUUUUUUCE and I can't WAIT!!

When I Grow Up
I just got back from a cover letter/resume workshop, and in order to put off Jillian/cleaning my room, I started looking at my school's career website, and other job sites just to see what's out there. After looking at a couple listings, I realized that I have absolutely NO idea what I want to do with my life. Actually, that's a lie...after watching like 1800 hours of the travel channel these past couple days I realized I want to be:
Yup, I TOTALLY want to be Samantha Brown. Anyone know how I can grab her job?

Sunday Night tv
I have a 3 page paper thats due in an hour, and of course I haven't started it yet but I wanted to share so of my quick thoughts on the main things on tv tonight: True Blood and the VMAs. Ok so True Blood first: Ehhhh...did anyone else think it was just ok? I thought parts were good, I'm curious about Sam's real parents, but there was definitely NOT enough Eric for my liking, and the ending with Bill and Sookie really just made me kinda depressed.
Now the VMAs...um WOW. Ok so we dvred it, and have just been fast-forwarding to the good parts but poor Taylor Swift. I can't BELIEVE that Kanye did that and kudos to her for not running off the stage crying like I probabaly would have done. Lady Gaga is WAY more cracked out than I thought and kudos to whoever thought to pair Eminem and Tracy Morgan together for those Best New Artist shorts...SO funny!

ETA: Wow, I don't really like her but VERY cool and classy Beyonce, and Lady Gaga you look like a lion.

A Long and BUSY week!
Sorry for the brief blogging hiatus....even though it was only a four day week did it feel so LONG to anyone else? I'm just getting ready to go to dinner and then out for the night so I'll give you all a brief update as to where I was this entire week!
Monday
S and I got back from her house around 12:30/1ish with plans to do LOTS of work and for S to start watching the second season of True Blood. Unfortunately those plans were completely delayed because our fourth housemate S, who stayed home for the weekend made an absolute MESS of the house. When we walked in the door we were greeted to food that was stuck in their bowls, a TON of dirty dishes in the sink, beer cans everywhere, and S was nowhere to be found. GRRRRRR....very annoying especially after such a nice weekend!
Tuesday
Nothing very exciting happened on Tuesday except that I had horseback riding practice (I made the equestrian team...WOOHOO!) and I discovered that people who don't listen in class really annoy me. Seriously...in one of my classes my professor was talking about a paper that will be due in a couple weeks and said that no outside resources were necessary. About two minutes later a girl asked if we needed any outside resources...are you kidding me? That night my friends and I went to a sorority sister's bday party which was fun, but we all ended up falling asleep at a friends house watching a movie and had to walk back at about 230am haha.
Wednesday
Wednesday was a VERY long day. I had class from 10am-1245pm and then 2-7pm. After I had an equestrian team meeting for about 1.5 hours and then went directly to the library to study for a test I had on thursday so I didn't get home until about 1230am. Ughhhh I HATE days like that but when I got home my sweet housmates bought me a present for making the team:
my favorite beer! My housemates (well two of them) are absolutely amazing and I'm so happy that they surprised me with that...completely made my day!
Thursday
I had a test on Thursday which wasn't alot of fun, but I think it went alright, and then I had another riding practice which went really well. Then I had another amazing surprise ,in that a very good friend's father was in town on business and wanted to know if I wanted to go to dinner. Our familes are very close, and I've actually known them since Kindergarden so this was SO much fun and a really great surprise...definately made my night as well! After that I went home to study for ANOTHER test that I had today, and had a pretty late night.
Friday
Today I had a class, and then a break before taking my second test of the week which I think went pretty well. When I got home I revisited
which I haden't done in about 6wks (sad I know) and it felt so good to get back! After I gained back all of the calories I burned because M and I met a couple of friends for happy hour which was a great end to a busy week! This weekend should be lots of fun, and who can forget the True Blood finale on Sunday...should be amazing! Sorry for the long post and I hope you all had a fantastic week/ and a great upcoming weekend!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone, I hope you all are having a good one! I went to S's home for the weekend and it has been SO nice and relaxing! I just got her addicted to True Blood, so yesterday was spent watching part of the first season and then we went shopping which was great...I spent too much as usual but I got some great goodies and went to Sephora which I haven't been too in FOREVER! Last night we went out to a couple bars, and today we're just hanging around the house finishing the first season...she can't wait to watch the second on On Demand when we get home, and I can't wait to have someone to watch the finale with in a week!
My camera has FINALLY decided to start working again (weird I don't really understand it) so I thought that in honor of the end of summer I would share some pictures of my family trip to Michigan. Enjoy and have a great rest of the weekend!
(the path that you take to reach all of the cottages)
(A REALLY had picture of our cottage from the outside)
(my room)
(my cousins and I on the pirate ship ride at the county fair)

The Farewell Tour
I just realized that I never really did an official "start of school" post so because Fall is JUST around the corner (yay!) and it's September 2nd, I decided to do one today (in case you were wondering the title refers to this quote from the OC when Summer compares their senior year to a "farewell tour".... but you probably didn't care that much haha.) Anyhoo this semester I'm definitely going to be BUSY! I'm taking about 18 credit hours which rounds out to about 6 classes...one of them is a shorter class and is going to end September 24 (and I can't WAIT to watch Grey's that night to celebrate) so that will definitely lighten up my load a bit!
This semester I'm taking:
Intro to Organizational Communications (so far this is seriously the most WORTHLESS class I've ever taken but hopefully it will get better)
Conflict Communications (I actually like this one)
Communications Theory and Research (any class with "theory" in the title is def going to be zzzz)
Labortory Diagnosis of Disease (probably not the best choice for a hypochondriac but at least this will end soon!)
Intro to Black World Studies (had to take it for a gen requirement but the prof is funny which is good...WAY too much work for a 100 class however)
Consumer Behaviors (eh...so far so good)
I'm also involved with my campus' chapter of PRSSA, my sorority (I'm one of the chairs of pref round...we don't rush until 2nd semester which is nice because we have LOTS of time to get ready), and hopefully a third thing but I don't want to jinx it so I'll let you all know when I find out! So that's my semester...it's going to be VERY VERY busy (I'm already behind on reading haha) but hopefully good and I can actually learn some things! What are you all doing/taking this fall?
xoxo
KAC
PS~ last night I sacrificed some of the reading that I had to do to watch The Strangers with some of my housemates...oh MAN it was SCARY!!! Has anyone else seen it...what did you think?
